Rev. Dr. Lyn Bell

Biographical Background

Rev. Dr. Bell was born in Brunswick, Georgia and grew up in a family where church attendance and  worship was a mandatory part of their lives. That foundation built the  basis of her desire to serve and abide in the will of God today.

She accepted salvation 1972 in her local church.  Over the years, she  has served in the role of Sunday school teacher, Assistant to the  Pastor, developed and chaired Usher and Evangelism ministries, and  served a congregation as a Deacon.  During this time she heard the call  from God to tell the world about Him. She began studying at the Bible  Institutes of God to minister the gospel at her local church. As her  growth in Christ continued, she received training and licensing under  New Birth Deliverance Ministries in Fort Washington, Maryland and  ordained at Calvary Gospel Church, Waldorf, Maryland.

In  a desire to serve more, SLS Ministries, Inc. was founded in 2003.  In  keeping the great commission on the forefront, it's an evangelistic  outreach forum to share Christ with the world through conferences,  seminars and workshops and other evangelistic outreaches.

Dr. Bell is co-pastor of His Place Worship Center and teaches daily on The New Joy 100.3 radio station, Brunswick, GA.  She is also an author that published Manna Moments, a daily devotional for personal bible study over the internet.  Prior to that she was a contributing author to the book 100 Words of Wisdom,  a national domestic violence campaign fundraiser.  Desiring to share  the gospel she has taught an outreach bible study at a shelter in  Washington, DC, a weekly bible study in a government agency, local  county jail, currently is a bible teacher at her local assembly, as  well as travels throughout the country to speak at conferences, Sunday  morning worship services, retreats and workshops. As  the result of social conscious contributions in her community, Rev.  Bell was a 2009 Charles County Women Commission Honoree and the recipient of  the 2012 AKA Nu Zeta Omega Honoree for Social Justice/Human Rights  Award.  She also has received several Maryland Governor Awards and  Congressional awards.  Dr. Bell recently completed the United Way Community Leadership Counsel training.

In a desire to be a servant used by God, Rev. Bell has a heart for  studying of the Word, firmly believing that God's people will perish  from a lack of knowledge of the things of God. The commandment to love  one another covers our lives and will allow us to serve one another as  Christ served mankind.

Rev. Bell divides her residence in Brunswick, GA and Maryland.  She is a widow and has one adult son.   Her home church is Calvary Gospel Church in Waldorf, MD.  She has enhanced her theological foundation with study at Maple Springs Baptist  Bible Seminary and obtained a Doctorate of Ministry from Calvary  Christian College.

The  Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the  Gospel to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to  proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the  prisoners (Isaiah 61:1).

Lyn is an active member of the  church where I am the senior pastor. She enjoys worship and is quite  enthusiastic about the Word of God. Lyn has a tremendous gift of  communication and is a devout student of Scripture. - Dr. Timothy Wood, Senior Pastor, Calvary Gospel Church
A woman of God used mightily of  the Lord, flowing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. She emphasizes  biblical truths when delivering a message, which results in revelation  of the Scriptures. - Pastor Marion Hughes, Zion Ministries
I have been an attendee at many  of the events sponsored by her ministry, SLS Ministries, Inc. Ms. Bell  is a dynamic speaker who offers profound wisdom and insight in a  layperson's terms. Ms. Bell engages the audience in her discussion and  is not afraid to deviate from the script if led by the Holy Spirit. I am  always encouraged and motivated when I depart from an event in which  Ms. Bell has spoken, so I believe that she would be a tremendous asset  to you. - Satyra Riggins
I know Evangelist Lyn Bell as a  friend and colleague in the ministry. Evangelist Bell loves the Lord  with her whole heart and has the heart of a servant. She is a very  articulate speaker, an excellent counselor, a highly gifted evangelist,  and an easy-to-understand teacher. - Rev. Shellie Polk

We Believe

We believe and teach that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God given to us to govern our lives. (2 Peter 1.20,21).

We believe and teach that there is but one God Who is infinite in power,  holy in His nature, attributes and purpose: omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (everywhere).   We teach that He revealed to us the Father in creation, the Son in  redemption, and the Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never  leaves those who trust in Him.
(I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; 2 Corinthians 5:19; Joel 2:28).

We believe and teach that in Jesus Christ dwelleth all the fullness of  the Godhead bodily; for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the  fullness dwell. (Colossians 2:9; Colossians 1:19).

We believe and teach the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We  teach that He ascended on high and has sent His Spirit (the Holy Spirit,  the Holy Ghost) which was poured out at Jerusalem over 2000 years ago,  and is still filling the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today. (Acts 2:14).

We believe and teach baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus  Christ for the remission of sins; we further believe in the baptism of  the Holy Spirit, the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit  gives utterance. (Acts 2:4, 38).
