Path to Spiritual Growth
The retreat begins long before we meet at Claggett's. It starts with us laying aside the things of this world to commune with our Lord and Saviour. In addition to your private time, we as a group fast together, pray together, study together, and finally on January 22, 2027, we come together to draw close to Him corporately.
Daniel 9:3-21 - And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.
This is a journey as we prepare for the retreat. We will seek Him privately for those intimate things he wants to share with us alone and corporately as soldiers to fight the good fight. To encourage each other, lift each other up, to pull down the strongholds in our lives.
Corporate Fast
January 13, 2026 - January 22, 2026 - 10-day
Joel 1:14 - Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders [and] all the inhabitants of the land [into] the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
Our 10-day Corporate Fast starts on January 13, 2027. We are asking you to fast as Daniel fasted for at least 10 days, using the Daniel Fast (a guideline will be sent which outlines suggested fruits, vegetables, fibers, nuts, and healthy items to eat, as well as which ones to refrain from eating). This will help with stocking your shelves in preparation. Of course, we are in different places in our journey and should seek the Lord in prayer as to whether The Daniel fast would be appropriate for you. If, due to your health, you cannot participate in the Daniel Fast, please fast as led by the Lord (but do fast as we desire to be on one accord as we prepare for the retreat. Fast according to the Daniel Fast or as God leads you. For some of you, the Daniel Fast is not a sacrifice. But do what is a sacrifice for you. What can you put down to spend more time with God? Fast from TV, phone chatting, computer surfing, social media, or whatever takes your focus from God. Please email us to discuss fasting if you are uncertain or have questions. And if you can, join us and go to a deeper level of spiritual intimacy on an extended fast starting January 2, 2027.

Let us come together to pray, to cry out, and to seek Him. Make this sacrifice early in your morning to come before Him together in corporate prayer.

We will be studying together for understanding and spiritual growth. We want to be wise in the ways of our adversary to defeat him; we want an understanding of our weapons and protection. We want victory in our lives and in the lives of our families. Let us seek wisdom and understanding together. Let the Holy Spirit bring us new revelation. God gives us gifts and talents to serve Him spiritually. But spirituality alone is not enough to develop our total capacity for maturity. Many people mistake spiritual activity for personal transformation. They may pray, study Scripture, and serve faithfully, yet still struggle with unresolved pain.
